Volunteer: About Volunteering

Why volunteer?

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a volunteer-driven organization, which means we could never manage to fulfill our functions without volunteers. Last year, many people helped in the office, served on committees, assisted at workshops and events and otherwise donated their time and talents. There are many different jobs that need your energy and enthusiasm. The benefits of volunteering are well known. Studies have shown that if a person altruistically uses their time and talents in service to others, their own life is enhanced and prolonged. Our volunteers report that what they do benefits themselves, their families and their peers. Almost always volunteers will report they get much more than they give!

Why volunteer?

Help us end the devastating effects of MS.

Have fun and meet new people.

Apply your skills and develop new ones.

But most importantly, make a difference in the lives of the people in our chapter area living with MS.
